Board member Morgan Smith is a geoarchaeologist focused on submerged pre-contact sites. Assistant Professor of Anthropology at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, Morgan has extensive experience with geophysics, both terrestrial and underwater. He is an advocate for the discovery and protection of submerged pre-contact cultural resources by means of survey and excavation, analysis, education, and public outreach. Smith is co-director of SPLASH: A Deeper Dive, and he serves on the Advisory Council for Underwater Archaeology (ACUA).
